Jessica Vitak graduated summa cum laude from Elon University in 2002 with bachelor's degrees in Journalism and Communications. She is currently a research intern at the Pew Internet & American Life Project and was formerly a senior editor at PR Newswire's Washington, D.C. bureau.
She feels that CCT's interdisciplinary approach suits her various social science and communications interests, and she is focusing her research in the program on how technology impacts social change. Her thesis will look at the creation of identity on Facebook and its implications for interpersonal communication in both the virtual and real worlds.
