The CCT Program hosted a panel discussion on media careers Tuesday April 8, 2008. The panelists, all CCT alumni, began by addressing their respective jobs and career paths. The focus of the conversation then moved to how different media outlets, i.e. radio, online newspapers, web-broadcast television, operate with regard to the American political scene. CCT students and alumni also had a chance to ask questions that ranged from the changing business models of traditional news organizations, the shift to niche markets and user-generated content, and the impact of online social networks on the news business.
The panelists included:
* Mary Madden of the Pew Internet & American Life Project
* Mike Keefe-Feldman of washingtonpost.com/Newsweek Interactive
* Sarah Handel of National Public Radio
* Scott Anderson of CNN.com
