*gnovis seeks New Media Editor

gnovis, Georgetown University's peer-reviewed journal of Communication, Culture & Technology, seeks an ambitious and innovative graduate student to help grow the organization's new media component during the upcoming academic year. Our New Media Editor will spearhead gnovis' new media projects, including our blog and podcast, as well as implement new ideas for extending our readership and pool of contributors. The ideal candidate will be a CCT student (for the entire '08/'09 year) and a proactive self starter with strong writing skills and blogging experience, as well as leadership abilities.

Technical skills in the following areas are not required, but are desireable:
web design/programming at any level
audio recording/editing
Web 2.0 concepts, tools and trends

To apply, please send the following items to Managing Editor Brad Weikel (bnw4@georgetown.edu):
1. Resume or CV
2. A brief cover letter
3. One (and only one) sample blog post. The tone of the gnovis blog can generally be described as "intellectual coffee talk" -- chatty and even fun, but backed up by rigorous thought and a clear, purposeful argument. See gnovisjournal.org for examples. Applicant's blog samples should be selected accordingly. Blog posts that have already been published elsewhere are acceptable, as are custom posts written solely for this application.

At the start of the year, the primary responsibility will be blogging, so the writing sample is essential, and willingness to post over the summer is a big plus.

Application Deadline: June 1st
