*Professor Nelson Participates in Twitter Debate on Technology and Government

CCT Professor Michael Nelson participated this week in a Twitter debate on technology and government, an initiative of the Personal Democracy Forum.  Professor Nelson, who also serves as "an outside advisor to Obama's campaign on issues of technology, media, and telecommunications," represented the Obama campaign during the debate. The McCain campaign was represented by Liz Mair, online communications director of the Republican National Committee, and was moderated by Time magazine blogger Ana Marie Cox.

The debate was launched to coincide with the Personal Democracy Forum conference, held June 23 & 24 in New York City, which focused on how technology and the internet are changing politics. The unique format of Twitter allows only 140 characters per "tweet," forcing participants to be concise in their answers.  You can read more about the debate on the Personal Democracy Forum website.
