Professor Meltzer to speak on "Objectivity in the new media age"
On November 14, 2009, Professor Kimberly Meltzer will be an invited panelist on “Objectivity in the new media age: Biased blogs, point of view reporting and the search for honest journalism” at the annual Collegiate Journalism Conference hosted by the Institute on Political Journalism at Georgetown University. The conference, this year titled: Politics, the Press & the Economy: A 21st Century Roadmap for Young Journalists, will be held November 13-14 at the Holiday Inn Capitol.
Other panelists will include award-winning journalists such as Bill Adair, 2009 Pulitzer Prize winner, Washington bureau chief of the St. Petersburg Times & founder of PoltiFact.com, Richard Behar, Investigative Journalist, Time and Forbes Magazines, Jim VandeHei, Executive Editor and Co-founder of Politico, and Darren Gersh, Washington Bureau Chief, PBS’ Nightly Business Report.
The conference is open to undergraduate and graduate students with experience or interest in journalism, communications or politics. Deans, professors or media advisors from colleges and universities are invited to attend as well.
