CCT Alumna Kelsey Brannan Launches "Premier Gal"- New Online Tutorial Community

When thinking of the world of video editing, a strong female presence isn’t what comes to mind. CCT alumna Kelsey Brannan hopes to change that. This week, she launched a new online video tutorial community: Premier Gal. The site is dedicated to providing creative and approachable online tutorials for video editing. She will be posting new videos bi-weekly. Additionally, she plans to feature a monthly #PremierGal, highlighting a woman in film or media who has wisdom to share with the video editing community.

It’s not surprising that Kelsey is trying to bring a prominent female voice to a community of which she is a part. Her thesis while at CCT, “Labor of Love: A Multimedia Ethnography of Lesbian Community Space in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area” (found here), was a study of the creation and sustainment of cultural spaces for lesbians in D.C. Her thesis was originally planned to only research the history of spaces for lesbians in D.C. But when Kelsey realized a void for a safe cultural space still exsisted, she changed her perspective and got involved.

We are proud of the work CCTers do- keep innovating and improving your community!
