How to Apply

The Graduate School requires that all applicants submit his or her entire application -- including all recommendations -- via our online application system. Only transcripts and test scores will be submitted independently. For more information check out CCTs application brochure (PDF).

All applicants must complete the Online Application Form.
Personal statements, writing samples and recommendations will also be submitted through the online system.  Additionally, the CCT program is also offering prospective students the opportunity to creatively express themselves through an online interview video that they can submit. This is not a required piece of the application, but is a highly recommended option for potential candidates.

All applicants are required to take the GRE unless they have completed a graduate level degree prior to enrolling in the CCT Program.
• TOEFL Official Score Report or IELTS Official Score Report (If applicable)*
• An online video statement through (click on logo for the link and invitation). This online video presentation is not required, but highly recommended.

* TOEFL/ IELTS scores are required for all applicants who did not receive an undergraduate degree or higher from a school where English was the primary language of instruction.

Applicants required to take the TOEFL or IELTS are also required to take the GRE unless they have completed a graduate level degree prior to enrolling in the CCT Program. The minimum TOEFL score for admission to CCT is 600 (paper test) and 100 (Internet-based test). The minimum IELTS score for admission is 7.5.

Georgetown University and CCT's GRE & TOEFL code is 5244. You do not need to specify a departmental code. To apply for financial aid, applicants must complete the following: *FAFSA *GU Supplement Form

Fellowship Opportunity

Additionally, two graduate fellow positions are available with CNDLS and only available to CCT applicants. The Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS) is Georgetown University's center for teaching and learning, and is responsible for a number of projects relating to faculty and graduate student professional development, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and teaching with technology. The graduate fellows will help with the overall operation of CNDLS and work on a variety of projects involving pedagogical and scholarly innovation. The deadline for this fellowship application and for consideration is January 15th and is to be submitted with an individual's application for admission.

The details of this fellowship are:

Fifteen hours per week; stipend of $7,000 per semester for one academic year, with the possibility of continued employment during the second year on an hourly basis. Students must maintain a full time academic load over the two semesters that they hold the CNDLS Graduate Associate post.

• Technical/Media position – this requires advanced technical skills (website design and development, blog design and development, social media skills, possible graphic design, film/video, and photography as well, etc.) and will be engaged in some aspect of technological support of educational technologies and tools.

• Writing/Communication/Research position – This does not require advanced technical skills and will instead focus on writing and communication projects (composing, editing), assessment projects, technology projects, or projects involving research on student learning. The position does not require high technical skill, but some basic technical competency is important.

The deadline for this fellowship is the same as that for scholarship consideration, January 15th. All fellowship applications must be submitted and received with the application for admission.
