Communication, Culture & Technology students have access to non-credit opportunities to add to their skill sets. These are programs offered by other units at Georgetown University.
Language Course Scholarships
Language courses do not count towards CCT requirements but students wishing to take a language course on campus may apply for funding to cover the cost of the classes. The scholarships are administered by the Graduate School. Current students may refer to the policies and procedures in the Student Handbook.
Apprenticeship in Teaching Program
Students looking to a future academic position may wish to consider the Apprenticeship in Teaching program offered by Georgetown’s Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS). The program is designed to prepare graduate students for teaching responsibilities through pedagogy workshops and mentorships with faculty and CNDLS professional teaching staff.
Media and Technology Workshops
CCT students may select from an extensive range of instructional offerings at the Gelardin New Media Center, housed in Georgetown’s Lauinger Library. These include classes on video and audio, web and social media, design and presentations, and data visualization. Additional workshops are offered at Gelardin’s Maker Hub. With their Georgetown login, CCTers also enjoy free access to LinkedIn Learning online design and multimedia classes.
