Haoqing Yu (G’25) published by Imagining America
Second-year CCT student Haoqing Yu’s (G’25) work “The Untold Stories of Invisible Immigrant Chinese Workers on the Transcontinental Railroad” has recently been published by Imagining America.
The project contains a series of remixed artworks including existing C.P.R.R payroll sheets, abstract drawings, blackout poetry, existing poems/song ballads from or about Chinese immigrant workers, and academic scholarship surrounding the history of the Transcontinental Railroad. Haoqing’s goal for the exhibition was to highlight the absence of and evoke the presence of Chinese immigrant workers, making them visible via remixed abstract art.
