Area of focus in CCT: New Media, Culture Industries, Race/Ethnic Studies

What did you do before CCT? I worked in digital marketing for a couple of years, jumping from an ad agency to arts nonprofits and then to the subscription streaming industry where I ran ads for Crunchyroll, a company that distributes Japanese anime.

What activities do you participate in at CCT? I’m part of the Gnovis editorial team. I’m also trying to get more involved with the Global Media Group!

Why did you choose CCT? I chose CCT because it would allow me to explore critical theory, academic research, and industry application simultaneously which was very unique compared to other programs I was considering. Also the faculty seemed extremely kind and supportive, and the students I spoke to were pursuing all sorts of interesting projects independently which stood out to me.

What surprised you about CCT? How truly interdisciplinary and open-ended the classes are! You really have the freedom to pursue research projects that you’re passionate about.
