” It has been awesome to converse with such diverse peers in the classroom, allowing me to gain exposure to global viewpoints on today’s issues in the tech and communications spaces.

Academic Background: Francesca graduated from the University of Georgia in 2019 as a four-year recipient of the Classic Scholars Award, with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a minor in English.

Area of focus in CCT: Tech & Communications Policy

What did you do before CCT? I currently work in the practice of Crisis & Risk advisory communications at Edelman. Since joining Edelman in 2021, I’ve aided in crisis response management, crisis plan audits, business & risk intelligence, extensive brand reputation management campaigns, executive positioning and executive transitions.

What activities do you participate in at CCT? I am a peer reviewer with GNOVIS academic journal; I also partner with the admissions office to serve as a mentor to prospective students. I’ve conducted professional tours of Edelman on behalf of CCT students.

Why did you choose CCT? I chose CCT as a full-time professional because of its availability, its rigor, and its relevancy to my professional goals. The courses within CCT have been stimulating inside and outside of the classroom, and there have been numerous occasions where I have been able to apply my learnings from my classes to my work within my current role as a crisis & risk communications professional. The program instructors have also been incredible and have all taken a vested interest in the success and wellbeing of their students.

What surprised you about CCT? I was surprised by how truly interdisciplinary the program is — outside of the CCT coursework, I’ve had the opportunity to take courses within MSFS, as well as the law master’s in tech program. It has been awesome to converse with such diverse peers in the classroom, allowing me to gain exposure to global viewpoints on today’s issues in the tech and communications spaces.
