“I chose CCT because I enjoyed how flexible the program seemed … at CCT I am able to truly explore my interests through the flexible curriculum.“
Academic Background: I have a BS in Computer Engineering (and an art history minor!) from Northeastern University, in Boston, Massachusetts.
Area of focus in CCT: I am still working out the particularities of my focus at CCT, but have mainly been looking at the intersections of technology, culture, and policy. I am interested in anything that addresses the effects technology is having on the world around us and the society we find ourselves in.
What did you do before CCT? Before (and during) CCT, I’ve worked for a couple years as a software engineer.
What activities do you participate in at CCT? I am currently working as a Fritz Fellow in a lab run by Dr. Meg Leta Jones and Dr. Paul Ohm. I also am in the process of producing a podcast for Gnovis!
Why did you choose CCT? I chose CCT because I enjoyed how flexible the program seemed. Before joining, it appeared that at CCT I would be able to truly explore my interests through the flexible curriculum.
What surprised you about CCT? I was surprised by just how diverse the interests of the students are. Everyone I’ve met is incredibly knowledgeable, about very unique fields distinct from my own.
What’s next for you after CCT? In these years immediately following my graduation from CCT, I am hoping to make my way into a role that prioritizes meshing together various methods of research to develop novel theoretical frameworks or policy approaches for emerging technologies. I feel that my time at CCT set me up for success in this domain, helping to foster an interdisciplinary sense for both qualitative and quantitative research. In my free time, I also plan to pursue publication on a number of projects, including both academic papers and personal writing projects!
