“Even though people are coming from a ton of different backgrounds, I was surprised how enthusiastic professors and other students are to help out.”
Academic Background: BA in Computer Science and Math from Wellesley College
Area of focus in CCT: History of technology, STS, tech industry and tech labor
What did you do before CCT? I was a software engineer for 3 years before CCT!
What activities do you participate in at CCT? At Georgetown, I’m a graduate assistant at CNDLS on the Digital Learning Pedagogy team, helping members of the Georgetown community work with new forms of digital learning tools. We’re currently working on understanding and supporting AI in classrooms!
Why did you choose CCT? I chose CCT because of its interdisciplinary nature! I wasn’t exactly sure what I wanted to research, but I knew the questions and topics that interested me. I felt like CCT has just the right combination of resources and flexibility to guide me to something more concrete.
What surprised you about CCT? CCT is such a supportive and collaborative environment. Even though people are coming from a ton of different backgrounds, I was surprised how enthusiastic professors and other students are to help out.
