Lou Jacquin

“Many students have interests that I had previously never seen the connection between and they have really opened my eyes to issues and perspectives I have never considered.”

Area of focus in CCT: Equitable and accessible tech with a focus on queerness and video games

What did you do before CCT? I started CCT while still an undergraduate student at Georgetown University, doing my senior year of college and first year of CCT at the same time! I majored in Justice and Peace Studies and minored in Computer Science as well as Education.

What activities do you participate in at CCT? While at CCT, I have worked for Professor Barba as a Virtual Reality Developer which has helped me grow my technical skills. I have also stayed involved with some of my undergraduate activities, especially writing and designing for The Georgetown Voice, Georgetown’s news magazine.

Why did you choose CCT? I chose CCT because it was the only program that I found that truly combined all of the topics that I have been interested in studying. It was also the only program that would afford me the flexibility to shift my interests as I continue to explore the areas I find compelling.

What surprised you about CCT? I was surprised by the wide breadth of interests and interdisciplinary combinations that are present in the CCT program. Many students have interests that I had previously never seen the connection between and they have really opened my eyes to issues and perspectives I have never considered.
