Dr. Evan Barba at TEDx on why we need to understand the politics inherent in technology

CCT Prof. Evan Barba was a featured speaker at the TEDx Tysons Salon earlier this year. In his talk, titled, Why We Need to Understand the Politics Inherent in Technology, Dr. Barba points out that all technologies have political implications, and everyday technologies shape our society in intentional and accidental ways. So how do we make sure society stays recognizably human? “It doesn’t matter what you do; what does matter is that you do something … to help shape the society the way you want it to be shaped. Because if you don’t, then I think, either by intention or by accident, our technologies will shape our society for us and we’ll all eventually be left behind.”
