On November 3, the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet is holding a  hearing on International Data Flows (new window), starting at 1pm in the Rayburn House Office Building Room 2141. CCT Prof. Mark MacCarthy will be testifying along with senior officials of other tech associations. His testimony makes the points that data flows affect all parts of the economy, we should stay the course on our policy of promoting data flows, and we need a  new safe harbor framework as soon as possible. The hearing will be live streamed tomorrow here (new window).  These digital trade issues are more fully discussed in the two week summer program that he runs for CCT students in conjunction with the Graduate Institute in Geneva.
