CCT student’s art installation and workshop at Digital Humanities Forum
Posted in News
Second-year student Taylor Vinson was invited to the University of Kansas Digital Humanities Forum this October to present her interactive art installation “CLOSER” and lead a brainstorming workshop on how to use technology for social justice. It was in Dr. Evan Barba’s Interaction Design course that Taylor learned how to use the Arduino board, distance sensor, and LCD screen needed for her creative project. As a “non-techie,” Taylor was inspired to lead a discussion on how to intersect technology with social critique and creative expression, and how to bring technology into spaces where other non-technical people can feel empowered to learn and design in ways meaningful to them. You can learn more about her project on her blog post and connect with Taylor on LinkedIn.
