CCT student’s presentation at the Advanced Learning Institute’s Social Media for Government Conference

Posted in News

Second-year student Kristi Pelzel was invited to speak at Social Media, Mobile & Video for Government, a three-day conference in Chicago, IL. Federal, state, city, and county employees traveled from every corner of the nation to meet and learn from peers working in communication fields. The focus of the conference was on strategic video content, social media, and new digital communication tools. Kristi led a session on stakeholder mapping, where she walked audiences through creating a 4-quadrant Power-Interest matrix. She sat on a panel to discuss trends in social media, such as “trendjacking” and Facebook Groups. She attributes many of her ideas and ability to transfer knowledge on these topics to her classes, CCT’s Future of Corporate Communications and SCS’s Digital Analytics. This professional development opportunity aligned with her course structure and career path, allowing her to continue to position herself as a thought leader in her field.
