CCT Alum Edward Erikson Publishes Article in TechPresident

CCT alum Edward Erikson has recently had his article “2013: the Year of the Jilted Tweep” published on TechPresident, an award-winning group blog covering activists, candidates, and the Internet. Erikson graduated in 2008, and is a senior associate at MacWilliams Sanders Communication and a teaching associate at University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Erikson’s article takes a critical look at the Twitter accounts of a group of the most contested House races of 2012, finding that “after the election, most candidates stopped tweeting.” The article analyzes the implications of these findings and situates them in the context of social media use by political campaigns.
