CCT M.A. Requirements
Students must complete 36 credits with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be eligible for the Master of Arts degree in Communication, Culture, and Technology. In completing 36 credits, Communication, Culture & Technology students must:
Complete the core required course, CCTP-5005, in the first Fall term.
Complete the core required course, CCTP-5006, in the first Spring term.
Complete at least one Methods course, preferably in the first year.
Complete one of two degree options, “thesis” or “coursework”. For more information, see below.
Maintain credit requirements for their enrollment type. For more information on part-time credit requirements, check out our part-time student page.
Note that full-time enrollment is required for international students.
Communication, Culture & Technology Degree Options: Thesis or Coursework
To reach 36 credits, students may choose between an all-coursework option and a coursework-plus-thesis option.
Thesis Option:
Students opting to complete a master’s thesis must:
- Complete 30 credits of coursework and 6 credits of thesis coursework.
- Earn a grade of A-minus or above in at least one Methods course.
- Receive approval from faculty of your master’s thesis proposal.

Coursework Option:
Students opting for the coursework option complete 36 credit hours of standard coursework.
Students opting for the coursework option must still complete a Methods course.
