What did you do before CCT? I was a hairstylist for over 15 years and small business owner. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to return to school to pursue an interest in communication. While earning a bachelor’s degree at the University of Maryland, I became fascinated by the impact of digital communication platforms, which led me to CCT.

What activities do you participate in at CCT? I try to take advantage of as many of the opportunities CCT offers as possible.

Why did you choose CCT? I was initially attracted to the topics CCT explores but fell in love with the culture of the program, interdisciplinary approach, course offerings, and amazing faculty.

What surprised you about CCT? How much I enjoy it. I work hard, but I am so excited about everything I’m studying; my professors are incredibly knowledgeable, approachable, and invested in their students’ success; and my cohort is super friendly with a diverse set of interests that I get to learn from.
