First-Year CCT student Alisa Wiersema authored the article “Cyberattacks Bring Government Attention to Security Reform,” published on February 22 on ABCnews.com. The article focuses on the controversy over the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA) and issues around data sharing and privacy. Wiersema quotes CCT Adjunct Professor and Bloomberg Government technology analyst Mike Nelson in the article. Regarding the issue of whether to trust the government to keep information, Nelson explained: “’It’s not enough to say ‘we aren’t going to violate your privacy…There’s clearly a need for more incentives to align the needs of citizens and the needs of business.’”
